Treesha's initial reflexology training was with Wellness Massage & Training Institute in Woodridge, IL.   Since then she has taken hundreds of hours of continuing education on reflexology and in the last 4 years has focused her education on scientific reflexology known as the Manzanares Method of Reflexology.  The Manzanares Method was developed by Dr. Jesus Manzanares, a medical doctor in Spain who has performed biopsies of the foot and taken EEG's of the brain to understand scientifically how the reflexologic action effects the brain state and the body.  Dr. Manzanares has created protocols for hundreds of ailments of which his technique has been effective for.  Treesha received her proficiency certificate in The Manzanares Method of Reflexology in Sept 2014 and is looking forward to continuing the discovery and learning process through more education with Dr. Manzanares.

Dr. Jesus Manzanares Definition of Reflexology:

“Reflexology can be defined as a reflex technique, based on the neurobiochemical action that is produced by stimulating a specific area of the foot and that has a general or partial repercussion in the organism (body). This is possible because there is an exact representation in the foot of the human body where every organ is reflected in a specific area. This definition has considered the autonomic structures and mechanisms that cause the beginning of the stimulus – a reflex arc. The reflex arc is the neural pathway that mediates a reflex action. It involves receptors, sensory nerves, spinal cord, reticular formation, thalamus, hypothalamus, cerebral cortex, spinal reticulum and fasciculi and the autonomic nervous system.”

In addition to the Manzanares Method, Treesha incorporates Cranial Sacral Reflexology (CSR) into her practice and is furthering her education in this area.  CSR protocols where developed by Dr. Martine Faure-Alderson, an osteopathic doctor integrating osteopathy, cranial-sacral and reflexology.
